A guaranteed original Italian 'locandina' movie poster for Michael Crichton's fantastic 1973 sci-fi 'holiday gone wrong' thriller "Westworld", starring Yul Brynner, Richard Benjamin, James Brolin, Linda Scott and Norman Bartold.

Written and directed by the multi-talented Crichton (who also wrote Jurassic Park), this superb thriller imagines a time when we can take a holiday in any period of history, in resorts populated by humanoid robots. Fancy a week in ancient Rome, Medieval Europe or the American Old West? You got it!

Now fifty years old, Westworld explores topics that we are still debating now - should we make intelligent computers? If we do, what are potential consequences for mankind? 

This wonderful smaller poster is a super example of the Italian locandina format. (These posters were typically produced with space at the top for the local cinema to write in the date and time of the movie.) It uses a fantastic simplified version of Neal Adam's iconic image of Brynner's 'Gunslinger' and manages to be 'sci-fi and spaghetti western' all at once. We love it!

This example has never been folded, but as is common with Italian movie posters, was distributed in a bundle and so has the usual horizontal wave across the centre of the poster.
