Back In Stock Early 20th Century Reverse-painted Brooklyn Meat-market Scalloped Glass Sign Slash 60% Off The Price [E398IhPO]
Antique reverse-painted scalloped/chipped glass butcher shop sign with mother-of-pearl and gold leaf accents.
Talk about one-of-a-kind; you will truly never see a piece like this again. Starting with the field, this piece features a reverse-painted green backdrop which allows the other highlights to pop. An illustrated bull bust is likely the first thing that catches your eye here, likely aided by the fluorescent orange border outlining it. However, the most notable part of this sign is the inlaid mother-of-pearl lettering, comprised of multiple individual pieces aligned perfectly within the black block lettering. Though it is hard to tell, within the wooden frame is a scalloped glass edge. Rounding out this sign is gold leaf foil, used to embellish all of the lettering and to create a border around the outer edge of the sign. All-in-all, a gorgeous and incomparable piece designed to stop any viewer in their tracks.
Exhibits some minor discoloration within the glass and frame, but the paint appears stable. Frame exhibits small scuffs.
