Our King Kalakaua sideboard is inspired by the monarch that ruled the Hawaiian Islands between 1874 until his death in 1891. Among his other noble achievements Kalakaua is responsible for the building of 'Iolani Palace the only royal palace that exists on American soil today. Our sideboard is detailed with columns that reflect the design style of the 'Iolani Palace. This sideboard has ample storage with eight deep drawers. The top two drawers feature a gracious overhang that allows easy opening by pulling from the bottom. All drawers feature hidden hinges so that no unsightly metal hardware is visible. Furthermore all the drawers feature state-of-the-art automatic close slides that return the drawer quietly. The round bun feet of the Kalakaua Sideboard also harkens back to the design style that was prevalent at the time of the King's reign. This beautiful sideboard was designed by our own craftsmen and made in our Furniture Workshop in Honolulu Hawaii. Only the finest Koa wood is chosen from the Big Island of Hawaii.
