An extraordinary collection of original watercolors prepared for the beautiful and early French horticultural periodical Annales de Flore de Pomone, ou Journal des Jardins et des Champs, a rival to Curtis’s Botanical Magazine in the quality of its plates. Although the plates are not signed, several illustrious French botanical illustrators and engravers were involved in this journal, including Edouard Maubert (1806-1879). The journal was printed Annales de Flore de Pomone, ou Journal des Jardins et des Champs: 1832-1833; 1833-1834; 1835-1836; 1837-1838; 1839-1840; 1840-1841, 1841-1842.
