These hollow core Corelite kiln shelves are lighter, flatter and stronger than solid mullite/cordierite style kiln shelves. For example a 12 x 24 x 1″ shelf weighs 20.75lbs while the same size Corelite shelf weighs only 12.3lbs. This is especially helpful for loading deep kilns!
