DESCRIPTION

This stunning antipasto set was designed by Michael Baldini in collaboration with Saura & Ivana Vigoli in the Vignoli workshop in Faenza. The 4 piece set features a tray with a scaled fish with three separate serving dishes set atop of it. The three serving dishes have the full fish painted on it & are each 4" x 5".  A spectacular piece, is a unique one-of-a kind serving set.  

ARTISAN STORY

These art pieces are the treasures of our most artistic pair of ceramicists. The Vignoli sisters, Saura and Ivana, use a special technique involving unique glazes and firing styles, to create a spectacular copper sheen, which makes every piece as unique as a fingerprint. These techniques paired with their geometric patterns offer a modern Italian aesthetic.

A classical inspiration

 Faenza, home of the art of ceramics during the late Middle Ages. The ceramists of that time definitely tried to imitate the porcelain and painted ceramics that were coming from Asia and Middle East. During the 16th century, Faenza stood out from the other ceramic production centers, and defined its own style, that sums up the culture of the era, a mix of Byzantine, Roman, Eastern and Islamic elements. From this tradition results our decorative research, that we like to define "Mediterranean".
