Semi Automatic and Automatic Machine Grade Polypropylene Strapping.

The characteristics of polypropylene strapping make it a popular choice for any type of pack that has a degree of resilience and this generally means  cardboard boxes, palletised product in cartons., newsprint etc. The reasons for this include low cost, and the fact that with all of this product type there is a degree of 'springyness' that compensates for the fact that polypropylene straps are not so good at holding any applied tension over long periods, and in fact up to 50% of applied tension will be lost within two hours of the strap being applied. On a pack of the type suggested however this is generally not noticed because the pack expands into the slightly larger strap loop. Conversley, when polypropylene strapping is used on solid packs with no 'give' then the strap slackness becomes very noticeable, and can result in pack instability.

The type of product strapped with polypropylene strap is also generally transported and stored under cover i.e in circumstances where the strap is not exposed to outside elements for other than short periods of time, as polypropylene is susceptible to UV degradation.
