• This is a Hydro-shift cable & Will only work on 1978-1981 year lower units only.
• For use with all Stringer 400 / 800 (4cyl / V6 / V8 2.5L 120hp, 3.0L 140hp, 3.8L, 4.3L, 5.0L 305, 5.7L 350 outdrives 1978-1981 (Hydro-Mechanical Shift Years)
  • 1982-1985 Used a completely different housing & shift cable that operated in the complete opposite manner, so please don't mix these up as these are in no way interchangeable. If you are unsure on which year your unit is, please message me. The Hydro-Mechancial Unit shift housings had the circular support units for the shift cylinder, which is an easy way to tell the difference by just looking at the housing. (STAMPED 909278)
• It is in overall good condition, there is a tear in the sheath, but it is in a section that is actually inside the boat. You could always put some shrink tubing over that area or that liquid electrical tape, but we wanted to point this out (see pictured)
