Factory Accurate Replicas

When we were developing these calipers, we spared no expense when it came to making our calipers just as they were all those years ago. We started by specifying a sand-cast steel body, with the traditional yellow zinc halves, black hardware, and silver handbrake components. Once it got into the engineering side, nothing but perfect a perfect recreation would suffice. The internal components of these calipers are so accurate that they can be used as replacement parts to service original calipers. This commitment to accuracy also covers the factory piston knockback mechanism. 

When disc brakes were emerging into the scene back in the '60s and '70s, automotive companies were rarely making their own brakes. Instead, they would license certain designs to be used on the cars they were producing in their factories. During the era of the 914-6 and the Dino/308, Porsche and Ferrari were working with ATE to make all the calipers for their cars. Due to this, the 914-6/GT race cars share a caliper design with the Ferrari 308. Genuine Ferrari calipers have a few subtle changes made to the original 914-6 design, like the bleeder being on the opposite side of the caliper, and the pad holes being evenly sized (the 914-6 had one large hole and one small one. Our calipers sit in a medium between these changes, using a dual bleeder method which fits both cars, and retaining the pad hardware design of the 914. We also manufacture pad hardware kits for these calipers, which include custom pins to work with Ferrari even size hole brake pads.
