Wheel thrown 8 oz. mug, coated in elegant black glossy food-safe glaze. All mugs are made from a stoneware that renders an earthy look and texture. Fired to cone 10 in a gas reduction kiln that I built in my own studio. Gas kilns eject a real flame, so I need to sit next to the kiln for 14 hours to adjust the temperature along the way. Playing with fire is pretty much an essential part of the process.
