The authors: 
Johann Gottfried Herder (1744–1803) was a German philosopher, theologian, poet, and literary critic. He was a key figure in the Sturm und Drang and Weimar Classicism movements, and his ideas had a significant influence on the development of Romanticism.

Johann Peter Liebeskind (1757–1805) was a German writer and translator. He translated numerous stories and tales into German, many of which were published in popular German magazines of his time.

Friedrich Wilhelm Krummacher (1796–1868) was a German theologian and writer, particularly known for his works in the field of religious education.
