My whole family loved her bowl so much that I started making more, and thus my first series was born!

The bottom layer is Spalted Maple; the middle is Walnut; and the top is Curly Maple. Spalted Maple isn't a type of Maple tree but rather one that has gone through the very early stages of decomposition, which is what gives it its beautiful colors. Likewise, Curly Maple isn't a separate or specific species of Maple tree but rather Maple wood that has specific figuring from how it grew.
