The final batch of matte dials used by Rolex in the Submariner models are referred to by collectors as the "Maxi Dials." And, of course, it is no surprise that, if you’ve followed us through our journey, these are among our favorite watches!

At hand, we have the second version of the "Maxies," a so-called "Mk2" (Mark 2) version, with lovely yellow and vivid patina on the plots and hands. The case is in excellent thick condition, with a faded-to-grey fat font inlay—dare we say a “ghost inlay”? A look we love! The Oyster ref. 93150 bracelet is in great condition, with end links marked 580 and a clasp stamped ‘VD.’ Furthermore, the watch is accompanied by its original warranty paper, which states a sale in Italy in 1980, the paper holder, and a 1981 calendar card.
