  I designed this pair of shoes as a tribute to my dad and grandfather, drawing from memories that are both heartfelt and a little surreal. My grandfather was an avid fisherman, proudly displaying the heads of his catches on the side of his garage—a bizarre yet oddly endearing spectacle of his passion. Fish was always central in our household, though my dad didn’t take to fishing; he was more of a gearhead. What he did love, though, was tinned fish.
  
  I’ll never forget one night as a kid, sneaking downstairs at 3:30 a.m to find him home from a night shift, snacking on fish and crackers. Instead of sending me back to bed, I pulled up a chair, and we ate together in comfortable silence. That moment, so simple yet profound, stayed with me—like father, like daughter.
