Scarce vintage 8x10-inch glossy portrait, boldly signed in blue fountain pen in the 1940s. In fine condition for its age, with scattered mild handling and thumbing bends, primarily in the borders and background at top left, not substantially detracting from overall appearance. Alternatively cast as either authoritative types of towering integrity or deliciously reptilian villains, character actor Alexander Knox is remembered by horror and sci-fi fans for his portrayal of Dr. Curtis Lanyon in Son of Dr. Jekyll (1951).  His other forays into the darker genres included starring roles in Alias John Preston (1955), These Are the Damned (1963), Crack in the World (1965), and The Psychopath (1966).
