Essential 1997 Fender Custom Shop 1960 'cunetto' Stratocaster - 3 Tone Sunburst Relic - Ohsc - Preowned Enjoy 85% Off [jYQBv6t8]
1997 Fender Custom Shop 1960 'Cunetto' Stratocaster in 3 Tone Sunburst with original hard shell case, COA and case candy! A very nice example of a very early Fender Custom Shop made instrumet with a lovely light weight and stunning birds eye maple neck.
The Cunetto made instruments are some of the earliest 'Relic' examples made to recreate those golden era instruments. As a result of this these guitars have fantastic attention to detail, great light weight timber and have that great vintage feel and tone.
This example is in good all round condition and in mostly original condition. The guitar retains its original trem cover and arm as well as case and candy. The front of the guitar does show a decent amount more wear than it would have left the Custom Shop with being a light factory aged model. The back however is pretty much as is would have been when new with the bulk of the post-custom shop wear being around the arm and body contour on the front of the instrument.
When the guitar arrive with us the bottom tone control pot had unfortunately been damaged when the previous owner flew it over to the UK. No other damage occured to the guitar or case but ultimately it meant that a new 250K CTS pot needed to be installed. The knob for the pot was also damaged so a new matching set of 3 parchment Fender knobs were install on the guitar with the damage knob and other 2 being present in the case.
The guitar has its original frets which has recently been levels and recrowned and pretty much remain unplayed so are ready to go for the guitars next owner. With that being said the frets on many of these early examples are quite large so there is still a great deal of height left on them and lots of life.
The neck on the guitar is stunning and displays a lovely birds eye figuring in the maple under a nicely tinted vintage nitro lacquer that has worn lovely and smooth in the middle of the neck. The rosewood is lovely and dark and smooth and the whole neck feels great in the hands with that nice vintage but not too slim 'C' profile.
The guitar is lovely and balanced weight wise and comes in at a shade under 7lb 8oz with the tremolo bar and bridge cover attached.
All in all a fantastic example of an early 1960 Custom Shop Reissue that is ready to be played for another few decades. As with all used guitars here at Guitarbitz this instrument has had a full workshop setup and appraisal and is ready to go with 6 months warranty!
