Protein Kinase C inhibitor

Functions

A potent and specific inhibitor of protein kinase C (PKC, IC50 = 50 nM). Inhibition of PKC is light dependent and is competitive with the diacylglycerol / phorbol ester binding site. Calphostin C competes with the diacylglycerol / phorbol ester binding site in other proteins such as Munc13-1. Reverses oxycodone-induced tolerance to respiratory depression.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
