This is a museum quality vintage Navajo large single stone hand carved fetish pendant thick silver necklace. This necklace not only is impressive as the entire pendant is wonderfully hand carved out of a large turquoise stone but also because it was handmade by the famous artist Ben Begaye. The impeccable large hand carved turquoise stone is hand carved into a wonderful flying bird pendant that measures around 3" X 1-1/8". The entire pendant including the large bail and the dangling silver works at the bottom measures around 4" X 3". The incredible large and thick handmade silver link chain is also amazing and contains a wonderful traditional silver clasp. I love how the eyes of the old Number 8 turquoise stone bird are inlaid with corals. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Navajo artist, Ben Begaye . The length of the necklace measures around 32". Sturdy 127 grams.
