Biography of St. George:
St. George, holy knight and martyr of Christ, has a widespread cult. Son of Gerontius the polychronic, he was educated religiously until he entered the military service. St. George had a generous heart and he distributed the goods to the poor people. When he confessed his faith in Christ, St. George was subjected to the most atrocious tortures and finally jailed. Here he had a vision of the God, who predicted him seven years of torment, three times the death and three times the resurrection. The legend sees him as a knight saving the Princess of Cappadocia.
