Lotus Planting Instructions

Plant this sacred lotus specimen in a wide (24 - 48 inches wide or wider), shallow container. Fill the container 2/3 full using loam soil. Dig a shallow trench on the surface of the soil and gently place your sacred lotus tuber in the trench, taking care not to break or damage the growth tips. Cover all but the growth tips with an inch or two of soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Gently add 4 - 6 inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny area outdoors. Your sacred lotus tuber needs 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily to grow and bloom. 

Lotus Fertilizing Instructions

Once your sacred lotus plants have aerial leaves, it is time to fertilize your lotus plant. We recommend a slow release fertilizer like 'Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs' for optimum growth and best bloom! Simply press the tablet into the soil near the roots of your lotus plant, taking care not to damage the roots.
