Lotus Planting Instructions
Plant this tall lotus in a wide (24-48 inch or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the top of the soil and place the tuber in the trench being careful not to damage the growth tips. Cover all but the growth tips with soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Add a few inches of water above the soil and place where it will receive 8+ hours of sunlight daily. DO NOT FERTILIZE! In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water, after that aerial leaves will grow out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves you may fertilize your lotus with 4 - 6 fertilizer tabs. Simply press the fertilizer tabs into the soil around the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots. Replenish evaporated water throughout the season!
Lotus Fertilizing Instructions
Lotus are very heavy feeders! We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for vigorous growth and best bloom. Feed your lotus once a month from June through September, as this is the growing/blooming season. Simply press the tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus plant, taking care not to damage the roots.
