Broken China Pendant

I’ve had this poor broken china cup sitting on my workbench for ages, practically begging me to give it a second life. But I kept putting it off. Why? First, because even though cracked, it was such a little show off, the violets appeared hand painted and a touch abstract, so appealing to my eye. Second, because when I moved my studio, I kinda banished my saw and grinder to the “too much effort” zone. Procrastination won.

Then, a few mornings ago, I snapped out of it, channeled my inner drill sergeant, and shouted, ‘Just do it, woman!’ Spoiler: I did. And now that sad little cup finally gets its makeover! Enjoy!

Artisan Handmade Process

My medium is the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, combining glass, gemstones, and other materials using the copper foil method. My metalwork features a blend of tin, silver, copper, and brass, all safe for sensitive skin. Instead of torch soldering, I use a soldering iron, which gives me more flexibility to create a diverse variety of organic designs.
