Here's a head turner! Lots of sparkle and gorgeous pop of pinkish red color. This one is so striking!

This French antique pendant is large in scale and entirely encrusted with old cut diamonds (I count 62 stones, not a single one missing) - old mine cuts in the bezel settings and smaller rose cut accents. These total somewhere around 1 3/4 carats. The openwork design is accented by the carre cut rubies (likely synthetic and selling them as such, since they were such a popular choice for the period). The rubies form a halo around the inside rim and add an X detail to the center. Milgrain details to the outlines of the setting, even the bale is encrusted.

So unique and beautiful! Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold. It is topped in a white precious metal as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal (either white gold or platinum, I don't scratch test the tops for fear of damaging the piece).

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. I like to include group shots to give an idea of size for comparison as well.

MEASUREMENTS:
36mm top to bottom to the attached loop, 44mm including the bale, by 25mm wide.

The largest center diamond is about 2.5mm, the other bezel set diamonds about 2mm. The little rose cuts are 1 to 1.7mm each. I would not remove the stones for exact measurements but somewhere around 1 3/4 carat total weight?

Weight is 6.1 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with natural inclusions, an exceptionally nice quality, well made piece but the rose cuts of this age tend to always look this way with the frosty edges and irregular cuts. No dark carbon spots. Not a single missing stone. No notable damage. There is not damage to the rubies on the right side, they are just set at a bit of an angle in the channel setting and reflect the light a bit differently in some conditions.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
