The presence of this Kilim is rich and energetic, showing off its age and character, even from a distance. Another striking point of this flat weave from the 19th Century is the amazing size it was woven, standing as a rare commodity and unlikely to be found again. This tribal beauty is distinct in our collection, woven with one of the oldest styles and techniques. It is a primitive piece from the Caucasus mountains, comprised of interlocking strands of wool with large scale tribal elements throughout with alternating narrow and wide bands.

This is a stout Kilim, but it is not suggested to be in very high traffic areas.
