■monotron DUO is an analog synthesizer with two oscillators and filters that can create more extreme sounds. The oscillator section can be used as a normal 2OSC, and the X-MOD (cross modulation) function that was installed in KORG's classic Mono/Poly has been revived after a long time. By modulating the pitch of oscillator 1 with the waveform of oscillator 2, you can create anything from a vibrato effect that periodically vibrates the pitch with an LFO to an extreme metallic sound like an FM synth.

■The monotron DUO's ribbon controller keyboard has been added with the scale function familiar from the KAOSSILATOR. By switching the switch, you can choose from four scales: chromatic, major, minor, and off. You can choose the scale that suits your playing style, such as chromatic when you want to play with accurate pitch like playing a piano, or major or minor when you want to play musical phrases by sliding your fingers according to your feelings.

■The VCF circuit, which was adopted in the KORG MS-10 and MS-20, is highly regarded. The powerful filter unique to analog gives a dramatic change to the sound, and gives off a strong personality that will never be lost on the stage at a live show or event.

What's more, the sound from a digital audio player or other external input can be output from the speakers together with the sound from the monotron DUO.
