Details:  Large classic lidded ginger jar in Mottahedeh's renown Duke of Gloucester pattern for the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration. White porcelain with polychrome groupings of fruit, mushrooms and insects.  Lid, neck, and foot are decorated with a deep bottle-green band and a gold "shell" border beneath small individual fruit sprays and small insects.  Lid sports a gold-painted softly pointed knob.  Marked on bottom in green "Reproduced from a Platter made for the Duke of Gloucester, Circa 1770" and "Williamsburg" in cursive superimposed over the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration logo, above "Mottahedeh  Duke of Gloucester" and the double P logo of Porcel, Portugal.
