BLACKFISH Sprint Race Fin

Just like the Blackfish raceboard, This fin is your all around fin that does everything well with some characteristics that do it better than most. This fin comes standard with all Blackfish and Whiplash race boards.

Dave Boehne designed this fin working with fin master Mark Stavron, taking the best attributes from the Angry Sprint fin and updated the shape and most importantly the foil. This new shape has the widest range of use and is fantastic for flat water, chop, ocean conditions, and riding waves on your race board. The perfect blend of tracking and response.

The foil is the thickness flow of the fin from the leading edge to the back edge. This fin has a thicker leading edge inspired by low speed foil wings which provides lift and glide in slower speeds to get up on to foil.  This style of foil was also used in vintage longboard surfing fins where a thicker foil provided much needed control and response to turn the heavy boards.

The shape is inspired by nature and has more of a rounded natural curve to it similar to what you would see on an Orca or Killer Whale with a trailing edge design that was inspired by the fastest flying animal on earth the Brazilian free-tailed Bat known to fly over 100mph. Can't guarantee you will paddle that fast but it's nice to know your fin can handle whatever you have in mind!

If you can only have one fin this is it. Pivot style design and low aspect, this fin turns buoys extremely fast and sprints off the line while keeping a nice glide longer. Enough area for forward projection and the tapered tip and "bat" style wing shape releases off, surfs waves and bumps incredibly well with more control and response.

The foam core and 100% carbon construction is super light and floats on its own. The buoyancy provides negative weight drag in the water. Premium Epoxy construction.
