Macaws are also gentle creatures, recognized for their grace and beauty as their colorful feathers glide through the air. Growing up in Brazil, we are accustomed to the beauty of these birds. Parrots often represent healing. They’re naturally great mediators and skillful at conflict resolution. I chose the Macaw to serve as a powerful reminder that we should give grace during times of conflict. Three years ago, the Amazon was engulfed by devastating fires. That’s when I felt compelled to do something. My heart was hurting, and I couldn’t sleep, thinking about how mankind could inflict such damage on Mother Nature’s most bio-diverse land.
