DESCRIPTION: This is an early FM radio! Manufactured by Zenith in 1949 in excellent working and physical condition. No AM. This radio is originally factory molded brown bakelite. Not repainted no overspray no touch up. No cracks, chips, or major scratches anywhere on the cabinet. Glossy and shiny for bakelite. Knobs are original and securely attached. The metal front tuning panel is in excellent condition. The plastic dial pointer is original no cracks. No rust or pitting. No rub off. There is a little wear around the Zenith logo. Gold metal tuning indicator is original, securely attached, shiny and excellent condition. This radio is 70 years old!  The tuning dial works fine. No slipping. On off switch turns on with a definite click. Pull outward to turn on by design as opposed to turn clockwise click to turn on. Volume works and is not scratchy. The power cable is a original in good working condition and securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Picks up FM stations up and down the dial without external antenna. Attach external wire antenna for even better reception! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
