This regal, throne looking chair features an amazing amount of detailed carving. The high back features a crown top supported by brackets with cherub faces above crossed wings; a center panel with relief carvings of a basket of fruit suspended from ropes with additional groupings of fruit festooning below; and upper and lower panels of festooning flowers and fruit suspended from rope and ribbons. The scrolled arms begin and terminate with acanthus leaves. Turned arm supports and forelegs add elegance. The legs are united by an H stretcher.
