Schafer-Frohlich is continuing its streak as one of the best producers of Großes Gewächs Rieslings. This is consistently one of the top dry wines in any given vintage and is consistently the stand out from Schafer-Frohlich. Dry Rieslings have gained popularity over the last decade, much like lower-dosage champagnes have, and it is easy to see why. With the lower sugar levels, the minerality and purity of fruit come to the forefront with a bit more richness and vibrancy. Winemaker Tim Frolich is at the top of his game, and the '23 Felseneck is another stunning vintage for this incredible site. Sourced from a vineyard featuring slate and quartzite soils, Felseneck shows irrepressible power with remarkable finesse and precision. 2023 is a riper and richer vintage, which is going to pair so well with the style here, showing excellent potential. Once again, this is a contender for one of the top GGs of the vintage and is another legend in the making from Schafer Frolich.
