La Chatenière Blanc is drawn from steep, southwest-facing slopes planted in 1985 and 1990 on rocky clay-limestone soils—one of several top sites farmed by the Colin family across 15 hectares in Saint-Aubin, Puligny, Chassagne, and Santenay. The domaine was founded in 1970 by Marc Colin and is now run by their children using sustainable practices. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels with a restrained use of new wood and roughly ten months on lees, emphasizing purity and site expression over richness. The 2023 vintage is shaping up to be excellent in the Côte de Beaune, with early reviews really loving the vintage for white wines. This bottling stands out as one of the more mineral and structured in the lineup, offering great value for premier cru white Burgundy, and is the best example of this cuvee of all time.
