The Organic 2023 Rapet Père Et Fils Corton-charlemagne All Sizes Available [sKM9CbIc] is an excellent Grand Cru white Burgundy and the best buy for Corton-Charlemagne this vintage. While still somewhat under the radar, Rapet is gaining recognition rapidly, with demand steadily increasing as collectors discover its quality. Based in Pernand-Vergelesses and with family roots dating back to 1795, Rapet is one of the largest single owners of Corton-Charlemagne, farming 1.6 hectares of vines that average 50 years old, providing them with excellent raw material to work with. The 2023 vintage, characterized by healthy yields and moderate warmth, yielded a classic white Burgundy structure, and Rapet captured it beautifully through restrained vinification: 30% new oak, limited bâtonnage, and partial use of amphora to enhance freshness. The result is a dynamic, mineral-driven Corton-Charlemagne with citrus, wet stone, and tension, showcasing both power and refinement and is the single best example that Rapet has produced. We recently enjoyed a magnum of 2000, which showed brilliantly, confirming the aging potential of this producer. The 2023 is a modern classic at an unbeatable price and is highly recommended! Vinous (Neal Martin) 95 pts! The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes mainly from the lieu-dit of En Charlemagne and was matured in one-third new oak plus amphora and foudre. What a lovely bouquet! Delineated and fresh with hints of oyster shell and crushed stone, this exudes class. The palate is well balanced with fine weight, a keen line of acidity, hints of apricot and hazelnut and a poised but sustained finish. Bon vin! (Drink between 2026 - 2044)

John Gilman 95 pts! The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne from Domaine Rapet Père et Fils is a beautiful young wine. It shows off superb depth and nascent complexity on the nose, soaring from the glass in a mix of pear, passion fruit, a gorgeous mosaic of limestone minerality, almond, white lilies, honeysuckle and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with a great foundation of Corton-Charlemagne minerality, bright acids, great focus and grip and a complex, impeccably balanced and very long finish. This is still a very young wine and I would try to not touch a bottle until it has had at least five or six years’ worth of cellaring.
