The slenderness of these two very rare dolls makes for an elegant pair, representing sisters. The emphasis is on the two types of wood, (Elm and Maple), employed, and the simple painted definition of the faces, and their extremely long hair. The artist states that the slenderness is to resemble the tall, thin trees seen throughout Japan. Each doll is signed on the bottom.

Condition: Excellent, original condition, with no fading or loss of color and consistent with age. The piece meets all the standards of collectible Folk Art.
