The New ZT 0006 is a military-style design that incorporates elements from the original ZT-9 tactical knife. Triple Aught Six is not a bayonet, nor does it lock onto a rifle. However, it does inherit the toughness and practicality of the tool, making it ideal for survival and outdoor use.

The "Six" in its name refers to the 6-inch blade. It features a drop-point blade with a high flat grind. The 3/16-inch thick blade is exceptionally strong, yet not overly thick, thus avoiding unnecessary weight. The blade has a bead-blasted finish and is coated with transparent Cerakote, ensuring durability and corrosion resistance. The spine of the blade has a section of serrations, which provides better control for detailed tasks when using the knife.
