"Virginia Valley" is inspired by trips through the Shennandoah Valley in Virginia.  This original oil on canvas was composed to have a grand view of the valley and Blue Ridge Mountains rising in the distance.  The backlight of the trees and grasses give the whole scene a measure of depth and contrast, and the soft summer clouds create miles of visibility and perspective.  In Private Collection.
