First edition Contents Page for the series “New Forms of Thirty-six Ghosts”. A spiderweb covers an antique-looking sheet of paper, falling maple leaves scattered about. Maple leaves were a symbol for the dying year and one of Yoshitoshi’s favorite decorative devices. Publication of the series was spread out over the years 1889 to 1892.

Condition:  Excellent impression and color: very good condition. Backed, with pigment transfer from a facing sheet.
