This is a generous length of heavily hand woven undyed hemp cloth that is made from hand plied warp and weft yarns. It measures just under 4 yards long which is the equivalent to 3.5 meters.

The yarns are thick and almost wiry and the natural colored cloth is very heavy in the hand. Cloth like this, of this weight, was often intended to be stitched into everyday, work items such as storage or hauling bags.

The cloth was made to be very durable and the fact that the undyed yarns are hand plied is a big bonus.
