This is a very handsome length of plaid cotton from old Japan. The beige tone may be dyed or it may be woven from naturally occurring brown colored cotton. The dark indigo squares are not purplish as they appear on the images here, rather they are a true, dark blue.

The weaving is consistent and tight and the narrow white intersecting lines add a sparkling effect to this length which would otherwise be more drab if they were not present.

A very good looking length of hand woven cotton with good age.
