This is a beautifully colored length of hand woven cotton that shows subtly colored stripes mixed with warp-based kasuri details.
The colors are blue, black, green and rust and the way they are judiciously assigned to the overall design creates a beautifully rich field of color.
The length does not look terribly "Japanese" yet it is--traditionally there are many variations on stripes with kasuri and this is but one of thousands of riffs on that theme.
From the color point of view this length is rich and subtle and is one of the main reasons to own it. Photos, unfortunately, do not do justice to the richness of color tone as it appears in real life.
