It is suitable for shincha, high-grade sencha, and gyokuro made from young tea leaves. Not suitable for fukamushi-sencha.

Tokoname is one of the Six Old Kilns of Japan and has been a pottery center since the 12th century. It is especially famous for its unglazed pottery.
