In honor of this iconic song's 5/4 timing, I used a 5-color limited palette of 5 colors (plus tints, tones and shades, of course -- just like the jazz band!).
This piece is part of my "Vintage Vinyl" collection of paintings inspired by songs from 1940-1980. Mixed media elements include hand-printed mono prints, pages from a French romance novel, sheet music and a quote that reads, " Ah, kindness. A simple way to tell another living soul that there is love to be found in the world."
