The new Gen 2.1 S&S 6.7L Ford Power Stroke CP4.2 Bypass Kit, or commonly called the “Disaster Prevention Kit,” does exactly what the nickname implies, it prevents the disastrous consequences of an inevitable CP4 pump failure from destroying the rest of a very expensive high-pressure fuel system.

CP4 high pressure pumps are the Achilles heel of the 6.7L Ford Power Stroke engine due to high failure rates, which commonly take out the entire very costly high-pressure system with it (injectors, rails, lines). When the CP4 fails, it sends debris into the rest of the system and requires a several thousand-dollar replacement of injectors, rails, lines, etc. The S&S Bypass Kit reroutes the pump bottom end flow back to the tank and filters and prevents the CP4 debris from getting to the rest of the high-pressure system.
