The 1982 French Open was a tennis tournament that took place on the outdoor clay courts at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France. The tournament was held from late May until early June. It was the 86th staging of the French Open, and the first Grand Slam tennis event of 1982. Mats Wilander and Martina Navratilova won the men's and women's singles respectively.

Roland Garros is well known for its stunning posters for each event, hiring notable artists to compose the artworks. This edition was created by Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon, best known for his painting and illustration work.
