Original Shimano Cassette 12-speed Mtb Xtr Cs-m9100 - Exclusive Drop [jSabPJBx]
Shimano follows suit and uses a 12-speed drive for the XTR M9101 group. Unlike the competition, however, the Japanese company lets the biker choose whether he prefers a maximum range (10-51 teeth) or a narrower cassette with smaller cadence jumps when shifting (10-45 teeth). The latter should be particularly suitable for XC and marathon racers, who can conserve their energy reserves by pedaling in the optimal frequency range. For riders who need a particularly stiff wheel, Shimano offers a 10-45 cassette with 11 gears. This is designed for a specially designed XTR hub, which uses the space freed up by the omitted 12th pinion for a wider hub flange.
Smooth and precise gear shifting has always been a trademark of Shimano cassettes. In the Hyperglide cassettes of the last generation, the sprockets were positioned in such a way that the chain runs extremely smoothly and with little vibration, especially when shifting to a larger sprocket. The XTR M9101 cassette introduces Hyperglide+. Thanks to this technology, gear shifting is now just as smooth when shifting to a harder gear and is 1/3 faster than with the CS-M9000 cassette.
When designing the cassette, Shimano uses a material mix of steel, titanium and aluminum for the pinions. While the smallest pinions with the smallest chain wrap and highest load are made of steel, the middle pinions are made of titanium and the largest sprockets are made of aluminum. This use of materials, which is appropriate for the load, leads to even wear on the cassette and also extends the life of the chain. The cassette is held together by an aluminum spider.
Attention: The current batch is delivered without a lower spacer. This is available separately here.
