An early and very cute cast iron toy steam shovel. This small cast iron toy has a movable shovel arm, and is painted dark red. The paint is original, with a little chipping and wear from lots of play time, but still in very good condition. We would rate it a C-8. The maker is unknown. It has the number "1561" impressed on the inside of the steam shovel, with the number 1 on one side, 2 on the other side. The number "1562" is impressed on the underside of the shovel. The toy steam shovel is 4 1/2" long and 2 3/8" tall. A very collectible cast iron toy ready to display!
