Artist: S John Woods, an impressive and well known British graphic designer born in 1915, poster artist, illustrator. From 1943-1955 he was the Advertising Director at Ealing Studios, handling movie and film poster design there, with many artists. He designed underground rail posters from 1950-1952.
Condition: A-, freshly linen mounted, beautiful. A beautiful and stunning piece.
Marked: 1/50 34H 3200 in lower left, and The Baynard Press in lower right.

This original modern or moderne London Undergound poster is a lithograph in deep and vibrant colors, and is dated 1950, printed by the famous Baynard Press founded in 1894 by F Sanders Phillips.

This was a "pair poster" in that it was printed with another text poster for rail stations. The official title is "Out and About: Country Houses" by S. John Woods.
