Filippo Negroli (ca. 1510–1579) was an armourer from Milan. He was renowned as being extremely skilled, and may be considered the most famous armourer of all time.

Original shield was made in 1541 by Filippo and Francesco Negroli in Steel, Gold and Silver at 23 5/16" Diameter with a weight of 10lbs 5 oz.
The original shield is designed as "damascend shield of his Majesty and the motifs designate Charles V as the incontestable owner the the shield.
