Product description: The kavadi, or temple structure style wood panel with multiple tiers, is an ornate piece of devotional art that beautifully combines the spiritual intensity of kavadi traditions with the aesthetic elegance of classical woodcraft. The carving resembles miniature temple entrance or doorway style architecture and prominently features Lord Ganesh at its center. He is depicted seated in lalitasana pose, exuding a serene yet powerful expression. Ganesh has four arms; his rear hands hold an axe and a noose, while his front right hand is in abhaya mudra, and left hand holds modak. His trunk curves to the left, gently resting on the modak. Ganesh is adorned with a richly detailed crown, elaborate jewelry, garlands, and a sacred thread, his details are intricately chiseled to emphasize his divine royalty. The vahana of Ganesh, the mouse, is present on either sides of Ganesh. The small lotus temple pillars with Yalis (mythical lion-like creatures) flank the deity, and the panel lead upward to a traditional South Indian style temple tower at the top with a celestial motif, and a kirtimukha face above Ganesh. Beneath Ganesh, a row of celestial demons and traditional motifs is carved into the panel, adding a layer of mythological depth and enhancing the traditional aesthetic of the overall composition. These detailed elements serve as symbolic guardians and elevate the visual narrative of the piece. The panel stands on sturdy legs that are firmly grounded, with peacocks perched on each leg. Their heads are turned gracefully, necks arched, and feathers finely detailed with delicate veining, adding a regal charm to the composition. The peacock, symbolizing divine beauty, grace, and protection, is also the vahana (vehicle) of Lord Murugan.
