Octavo.  [iv], 124 pp.  Lithograph.  PN 26335.  Signature "M[argaret] J[ane] Vaughan Williams / Oct 12 1910" in ink to head of upper wrapper.  11 x 7.75 inches [27.5 x 19.2 cm].  Occasional notes penciled in.  Original decorative blue wrappers detached and frayed to spine and reattached with spine rebacked in black cloth tape; slightly foxed; else in very good condition.   From the library of critic Michael Kennedy (1926–2014), who was a close friend of the composer and became his biographer in 1964.

A Sea Symphony, the first work Vaughan Williams called a "symphony," is a setting of poems by Walt Whitman for chorus and orchestra in four movements.  Margaret Jane Vaughan Williams (1870–1931) was the composer's sister.  In 1905 she founded the Leith Music Festival, whose conductor was Ralph from its inception to 1953.
